NGA-101 DRM Media Encoder
The Newglee NGA-101 DRM Media Encoder is a highly reliable, professional digital broadcasting system that provides source coding and service multiplexing for mediumwave and shortwave Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) systems. It features the Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) family of codecs together with DRM multiplexing, and outputs the DRM multiplex stream in MDI/DCP format. Its performance fully complies with the international standards ETSI ES 201 980, ETSI TS 102 820 and ETSI TS 102 821, as well as the Chinese national broadcasting industry standard GY/T 423-2025, “Technical Specifications for Mediumwave and Shortwave Digital Radio Broadcasting.”
- DRM Digital Broadcasting Audio Encoder Real-time, multi-stream audio encoding supporting the MPEG Unified Speech and Audio Coding (USAC) and High-Efficiency Advanced Audio Coding v2 (HE-AACv2) formats.
- DRM Multimedia Data Encoder Support for all standardized and broadcaster-specific data services — covering import, processing, encoding and broadcast of text, images and structured information.
- DRM Multiplex Generator Comprehensive DRM signalling that generates the complete DRM multiplex, arranges multi-service configurations and provides standard MDI/DCP output streams.
High-Definition Audio Support
- Support for MPEG Unified Speech and Audio Coding (USAC / MPEG Extended High Efficiency AAC)
- Support for HE-AACv2 encoding
Configuration and Management
- Typically installed at a studio, playout center or transmitter site, the system can be fully managed and provisioned via remote control, accessible from any modern web browser.
Audio and Data Inputs
- The system supports 2 digital AES/EBU audio inputs or 2 analog stereo inputs. Audio files can also be uploaded to the system for offline audio encoding.
DRM Multiplex Output via MDI/DCP
- The output of the Newglee DRM Media Encoder carries the complete DRM multiplex (FAC, SDC, MSC) in MDI/DCP format, compliant with ETSI TS 102 820 (Multiplex Distribution Interface) and ETSI TS 102 821 (Distribution and Communication Protocol).
